The Friday Action Hour Action Hub is a companion resource for UU Justice NC’s Friday Action Hour. It helps visitors find weekly action items, announcements, scripts, links, and related resources.

We try to keep this site simple and collect as little information as possible.

Information We Collect

Public visitors

You can browse the public pages of this site without creating an account or intentionally providing personal information.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process basic technical information needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for basic site operation, security, troubleshooting, and performance.

Coordinator users

Coordinator accounts are used only by authorized UU Justice NC staff or volunteers who manage site content.

For coordinator accounts, we may store login-related information such as username, email address, password hash, session data, and administrative activity needed to manage the site securely.

Imported content

Authorized coordinators may paste or upload Friday Action Hour Markdown content for parsing and review. This content may include public action information, names of public officials, organizational contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, links, scripts, announcements, and event information.

• operate and maintain the Action Hub;
• display Friday Action Hour actions, announcements, scripts, and resources;
• allow authorized coordinators to log in and manage content;
• help coordinators convert weekly Markdown content into structured draft content;
• protect the security and reliability of the site;
• troubleshoot errors and improve basic functionality.

We do not sell personal information.

Use of OpenAI for Coordinator Import Tools

Authorized coordinators may use an import tool that sends pasted or uploaded Friday Action Hour Markdown content to the OpenAI API to help convert it into structured draft content.

This feature is used only by authorized coordinators. Public visitors do not use this feature, and normal public browsing activity is not sent to OpenAI by this site.

Imported content is reviewed by a coordinator before publication.

OpenAI states that data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the customer explicitly opts in.

How We Share Information

We may share information only as needed to operate the site, including with:

• our web hosting provider;
• database and infrastructure providers;
• OpenAI, when authorized coordinators use the Markdown import feature;
• service providers needed for site security, maintenance, or troubleshooting;
• legal or regulatory authorities if required by law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information.

Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the site and coordinator access, including password-protected accounts and secure session management.

No website or online service can guarantee complete security. If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will respond as appropriate.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

Public content, such as action items, announcements, scripts, and weekly archive materials, may remain available as part of the Action Hub archive unless removed by UU Justice NC.

Coordinator account information is kept as long as needed for authorized access.

Import drafts and parsed content may be retained for review, troubleshooting, or recordkeeping unless deleted by an authorized coordinator.
